Why Can't our Dog be a COW

So sad today. Our little chihuahua, Pincho, has parvo. Initially, his symptoms seemed to point to an intestinal blockage or bowel obstruction of some kind, BUT yesterday he had the unmistakable signs of parvo and if you know anything about it, parvo is not pretty... and that SMELL! And yes, he had had his shots if you're wondering, so we're not sure how he got it. Hopefully, the shots at least gave his tiny immune system a few antibodies to help in the FIGHT!

The vet in our tiny, tourist town is more at ease treating cows and horses and his bed side manner, or lack thereof, was not helpful. Pincho was so frightened and again, watching a tiny little dog scared shitless is just, well, sad. OH, and of course it being the holidays and all, we're on our own in trying to nurse him back...

Don't want to drone on and dampen anyone's festive mood, but we sure would appreciate some positive ENERGY sent our way. thanx.

It's Christmas, a time of miracles. Maybe Pincho will be one of many. Best wishes, Darlene
Oh, man. Sorry to hear about your dog. Try to find things that he might eventually eat. Try to comfort/lay next to the dog for heat transfer. They say laying next to your dog will give him incentive to please and thus more will and determination to try and fight it. I am sure you will get lots of advise but treat him like a baby and create some good karma to accompy the medicine they gave you. I hope everything turns out good. Try to have a Merry Christmas guys.

THANX guys, appreciate it.
Awww Wishing you guys and Pincho the best. Remember Parvo is highly contagious so be careful around other people's dogs. I hope he pulls through! I didn't know they could still contract it with the shot! I thought that was the point?

Sending positive, healing vibes Pincho's way ...

Thanx Mary Lynn..we appreciate it. He seems to be doing better....plenty of liquids, antibiotics, pedialyte, calloidal silver, sleep and he's even eating a bit. Still don't understand how he got it though. We thought the same thing about the shot, but the vet here just said since he had the shot that chances are he will pull threw. He’s been quarantined, and all his poo has been cleaned up. And since the virus can live longer than 6 months without a host the areas are dowsed with bleach to help kill the virus.
